A village route beyond Chandragiri.
The Chandragiri Range flanks the south-western part of Kathmandu Valley. Its verdant hills are dotted with small traditional villages, pretty lakes, and spectacular mountain scenery. The route skirts Chandragiri Hill, crosses from Thankot to Chitlang Village, continues to Markhu, and includes boating at Kulekhani.
Chitlang is an ancient Newar settlement with inscriptions dating back to the Lichchhavi era. Tamang, Khas, Newar, and mixed communities live across its wards. Visitors come for the village culture, Swachhanda Bhairav Temple, Satdhara, green fields, forests, and local resorts.
